Saxby
represents an imaginary junction station on the former Hull and West Junction
Railway line running through the Humber tunnel and connecting to the lines to
Grimsby, Doncaster, Retford and Lincoln. The actual junction is someway
from the station and thus off the modelled area.
The style of
buildings on our layout are based on those found in North Lincolnshire.
The stock used on the layout is a mixture of detailed and weathered ready to run
and kit built and represents that which would have run in the area in the late
1950's to early 1960's. However, modellers licence does arise from time to
time.
Saxby featured
as layout of the month in Railway Modeller for March 1997.
