Mill Farm is an attempt at
modelling a narrow gauge potato railway on the edge of the Wolds in
South Lincolnshire. The railway runs through 2 miles of agricultural
land and is used to carry prime potatoes from the growing fields to the
warehouse to be prepared and packed for onward distribution.
Modelled in 009 gauge and set in the 1950’s to the early 1960’s. The
stock used on the model is a mixture of kit built and modified/ detailed
ready to run. A prominent feature of the flat landscape is a model of a
post mill.
The
layout was built and is owned by Cleethorpes Model Railway Society
member Graham Taylor.
